We need more time, but it’s something that we can’t buy, build, or stretch. Conversations get interrupted, call waiting beeps in, the text message arrives. I’m meeting with a group of guys in a reading group for 1.5 hours each Wednesday and we can barely cover eight pages of a book. We thought we could cover a chapter a week, but the discussion is so, long, engaging, disjointed, challenging, off point, circular, incisive, and revealing that we may be reading this same book, unChristian, when the NFL pre-season starts. I’m going to use this “third space” to post insights from our discussion, to expand our group, and reflect on our discussion time. Also, throughout the week as you weave yourself through your life community, think about what your third space(s) look like, how much of your week is spent in a “third space“, do you have third space friends, any great third space stories, or incredible third space hide outs, that you can share with us in this virtual third space.
